Western Ball Hockey is implementing the Government of Alberta’s Restrictions Exemption Program. You can view Alberta’s REP announcement details here.
What does this mean for players and spectators?
In order to participate in or spectate any activities in the PKAG Arena or Multi-Sport Arena, all players are required to show proof of at least one dose of a Health Canada approved Covid-19 vaccine that was administered at least 14 days prior to your scheduled game or activity. Players may also show proof of a negative Covid-19 test within the last 72 hours, as outlined in Alberta’s REP announcement details.
On-site rapid testing available
If you are not willing to disclose your vaccination status, or if you declare that you do not have the required vaccinations for admission to the arena(s), you may purchase and take a rapid antigen test at the WBHL desk inside the Calgary Central Sportsplex.
The rapid antigen tests are approved by Health Canada and may only be used to gain admission for leagues, programs, and services offered by Western Ball Hockey. They may not be used to gain access to other businesses, as outlined in Alberta’s REP announcement details.
The cost for an on-site rapid test is $25 + GST. To book an on-site rapid antigen test, you must email email@example.com at least 36 hours before your scheduled game to request a testing time. Please note that bookings are only guaranteed upon email confirmation. The more advance notice you give, the more likely you will be to get a rapid test booking.
Western Ball Hockey will accept a negative test from other provincially accredited Covid-19 testing sites, such as Shoppers Drug Mart. The prices of those tests vary, but they may be accepted by multiple businesses, which is a benefit that we cannot offer with our own rapid tests.
